Frequently Asked Questions

You have questions?  Fire at will!

We welcome your questions because they are the best way to learn about The Federation, our missions and focus, and the spirit of our organization.

If you don’t find the answer to your question here, please send me a message.  We’ll answe your question and post it here for others wondering the same thing.

Where was The Federation started?

The very first home of The Federation was in the home of its founder Russ Haslage, in Lorain, Ohio.

The Federation launched on June 1, 1984, (opening night of ‘Star Trek III: The Search for Spock’) after nine months of planning, designing and building its infrastructure.

Is The Federation a 501(c)3 non-profit organization?

Yep!  The Federation has been recognized as a non-profit organization since 1984.

The Federation is a 501(c)3 non-profit (charity) organization.  Your donations to The Federation are 100% tax-deductible.

When I donate to The Federation, where does my money go?

One hundred percent of your donation goes to help those in need the mission you selected when giving.

The Federation does not deduct a percentage of donations to go toward administrative or operating costs.

How do you pay the bills?

We don’t take a cut of your donations to our Humanitarian Fund to pay the bills.  We can pay our overhead (rent, utilities, etc.) by selling merchandise in our on-premses Federation Promenade and in our online shop.

The Federation has no administrative costs because we’re all volunteers.  No one is paid.
